Rene’s Pizza Katoomba
In the 80s my dad had a shop the Pavlova Kitchen on Katoomba Street in Katoomba NSW. On the other side of the street from the Pavlova Kitchen was a pizza place called Rene’s Pizza. As a kid we would get the Katoomba pizza, it was the best thing ever.
We were recently in Blue Mountains (October 2020) and found Rene’s Pizza Place still there. I remember the distinctive shop front. And of course I had to order the Katoomba pizza. Everyone liked it. It is great to be able to share the same pizza with my wife and daughter all these years later.

Traveling from Newcastle to the Blue Mountains for this pizza is not a great idea so here is my version inspired by the Katoomba pizza.
This is made with fresh dough a typical tomato based pizza sauce with leg ham, egg and cheeses. Size is 38cm.
